The Dictionary says...
1. creative art, especially visual art whose products are to be appreciated primarily or solely for their imaginative, aesthetic, or intellectual content.
2. an activity requiring great skill or accomplishment.
Early on my photographic style was heavily influenced by the outside world, like many other photographers just getting started. As I grew to understand what my heart and creative eye were drawn to I would dive deeper into that. Seeing a stunning landscape as the muse for each collection of photographs I would curate. The landscape is what drove my passion, the love I've held for it likely reflected in the hearts of others. As humans we have this inherent desire to be apart of something beautiful, what better way to embrace that than by adding those you love to works of photographic art.
The more challenging part is overcoming the human aspect. Our desire for perfection, the fear of judgement when coloring outside the lines, or limiting ourselves to the basics and only what we are familiar with.
If I leave a session without at least one creative photograph worthy of calling art then I have not accomplished my primary goal.
